Crystal-Clear Tempered Glass Protection with Full MagSafe Support for iPhone 17 Air

The iPhone 17 Air is Apple’s thinnest iPhone ever — and thinness demands a case that adds zero bulk while delivering real protection. The Red Pepper Cases iPhone 17 Air Tempered Glass MagSafe Case pairs a 9H-hardness tempered glass back panel with a shock-absorbing TPU bumper, keeping the original iPhone 17 Air aesthetic completely visible while adding scratch, drop, and impact defense. The PC frame is MagSafe-aligned so every MagSafe charger and accessory snaps on exactly as Apple intended. Browse the complete iPhone 17 Cases collection.

10 Key Features

  • 9H Tempered Glass Back Panel — Hardness rating of 9H (the same scale as sapphire-coated camera lenses) means keys, coins, and everyday objects cannot scratch the case back. The original iPhone 17 Air color is fully visible through the glass.
  • MagSafe-Aligned Design — The internal magnetic ring array is precisely positioned for the iPhone 17 Air MagSafe coil. MagSafe chargers snap, MagSafe wallets and mounts attach at full magnetic strength.
  • Shock-Absorbing TPU Bumper — Shore 70A TPU perimeter bumper absorbs corner and edge drop impact. The combination of hard glass back and soft rubber bumper handles drops that crack pure polycarbonate cases.
  • Crystal Optical Clarity — High-transmittance glass (>92% light transmission) and a PC frame with anti-yellowing UV treatment mean the case stays water-clear for years, not months.
  • Raised Screen Bezel — 0.8 mm raised front lip around the Super Retina XDR OLED display keeps the screen off tables and floors when placed face-down.
  • Raised Camera Ring — Raised rear rim protects the iPhone 17 Air rear camera system when placed on any flat surface.
  • Face ID Compatible — The top frame cutout fully exposes the Face ID sensor. Unlock and Apple Pay work at normal range without adjusting hold position.
  • Wireless Charging Support — Glass back and MagSafe alignment ring support both 25W MagSafe and standard Qi wireless charging without removing the case.
  • Slim Profile — Total case thickness: approximately 1.8 mm at the sides. The iPhone 17 Air’s signature thin feel is maintained in-hand and in-pocket.
  • Anti-Fingerprint Coating — Oleophobic coating on the glass back resists fingerprints and smudges, keeping the case looking clean throughout the day.

Material Specifications

  • Back Panel: 9H Tempered Glass, 0.7 mm, anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating
  • Frame: Polycarbonate (PC), anti-yellowing UV treatment
  • Bumper: TPU (Shore 70A)
  • Magnetic Ring: N52 neodymium magnets in MagSafe array pattern
  • Weight Added: ~18–22 g
  • Total Thickness Added: ~1.8 mm sides, ~2.2 mm back

5 Real-World Use Cases

  1. Show Off the Color: Apple’s iPhone 17 Air color options are best appreciated through glass. This case shows the full color, finish, and Apple logo while providing genuine protection.
  2. MagSafe Power Users: If you use MagSafe chargers, wallets, and car mounts daily, this case ensures every snap-on is strong and perfectly aligned — no wobble, no slipping.
  3. Professional Settings: A clear glass case in a meeting or boardroom looks intentional and premium — far more polished than a bulky rugged case.
  4. Everyday Carry: Slim enough for jeans front pockets, light enough to forget it’s there. The glass back handles key scratches that destroy soft TPU cases daily.
  5. Gift Giving: Crystal-clear design works for any iPhone 17 Air color, making it the safest case gift for someone whose color preference you don’t know.

Feature vs. Benefit

Feature Benefit to You
9H tempered glass back Scratch-proof surface that outlasts TPU backs by years
MagSafe alignment ring Full-strength snap-on with every MagSafe accessory; no weak holds
Anti-yellowing PC frame Case stays crystal-clear after 1–2 years instead of turning yellow
TPU bumper Corner protection from drops that hard-only cases transmit to the phone
Slim 1.8 mm profile iPhone 17 Air’s thin feel preserved; fits all standard pockets

Installation Guide

  1. Clean your iPhone 17 Air: Wipe the back and sides with a microfiber cloth. Any debris under the glass back will be visible.
  2. Open the bumper: Flex the TPU bumper open at a corner — it is designed to flex without cracking.
  3. Insert the phone: Align the bottom USB-C port with the bumper cutout, then press the phone into the bumper until the sides are flush.
  4. Check glass back: If the glass back is a separate component, press it onto the PC frame from the back. It should click or magnetically secure depending on the design.
  5. Verify: Test Face ID, MagSafe snap strength, screen touch, and button response.

Troubleshooting

  • MagSafe charger not snapping strongly? Confirm the phone is fully seated in the case and the glass back is fully flush. A partially seated phone shifts the internal magnets off-center.
  • Glass back feels loose? Ensure all clip points are fully engaged. If the design uses magnets for the glass panel, check for any metal debris on the magnet surface.
  • Screen touch feels slightly different? This is normal on first use. The raised front bezel creates a small ledge at the screen edge; swipe gestures from the very edge may feel slightly different initially.
  • Case picked up fingerprints? The oleophobic coating reduces fingerprints but does not eliminate them. Wipe with a dry microfiber cloth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does MagSafe work at full 25W charging speed with this case?
A: Yes. The MagSafe alignment ring ensures the phone and charger coils are precisely centered, maintaining full 25W MagSafe charging speed for the iPhone 17 Air.

Q: Can I use a MagSafe wallet with this case?
A: Yes. MagSafe wallets attach at full magnetic strength. The N52 magnet array provides the same snap-on feel as using MagSafe accessories directly on the phone.

Q: Will the glass back crack if I drop the phone?
A: The tempered glass back can crack from severe direct impacts, just as the iPhone back glass can. The TPU bumper protects against corner and edge drops, which are the most common drop scenarios. A direct flat-back drop onto hard pavement at height can crack the case glass.

Q: Does this case yellow over time?
A: The PC frame has UV anti-yellowing treatment. The tempered glass back does not yellow. With normal use, the case should remain clear for 12–18+ months.

Q: Is this case compatible only with iPhone 17 Air?
A: This listing is precision-fit for the iPhone 17 Air. Separate listings are available for iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.

Q: Does the case protect against drops?
A: The TPU bumper provides meaningful drop protection for the most common scenarios (corner and edge drops). This is not a heavy-duty rugged case and is not rated for extreme drops.

Q: How much does this add to the phone’s weight?
A: Approximately 18–22 g. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to weigh ~170 g; total with case: ~190–192 g.

Q: Does this interfere with wireless CarPlay or Bluetooth?
A: No. Glass and PC/TPU do not interfere with radio frequency signals.

Q: Is a screen protector needed separately?
A: The case includes a raised front bezel for screen protection but not a built-in screen lens. We recommend pairing with a compatible tempered glass screen protector for complete front protection.

Q: What is the return policy?
A: 30 days, unused, original packaging. Full details: Refund Policy.

Q: How long does shipping take?
A: Standard US: 5–7 business days. Expedited at checkout.

Q: Does this work with Apple Pay?
A: Yes — NFC passes through the PC/glass case. Apple Pay tap-to-pay works normally.

Q: Are there color or finish options?
A: Available in multiple frame and finish combinations — select from the variant chooser.

Q: How do I get support?
A: Visit our Contact page.

What a delight to read!
Format: Kindle
I'm not quite sure what I expected when I plunked down my money and downloaded A Quiet Life in the Country. A modern variation of the Golden Age country house mystery? If that was it, I didn't get it. What I did wind up getting was a whole lot more. I will warn you ahead of time: if you are a fan of those classic mysteries, T.E. Kinsey's book may not be your cup of tea, and now I'll set about telling you why. Kinsey has written a good, puzzling, multi-layered mystery that gives you a real feel for village life out in the English countryside at the turn of the last century. While the plot and the setting are first-rate, it's Kinsey's characters that make this book shine-- and what makes the book turn away from those classic mysteries. Inspector Sunderland moves from being a stereotype to being someone rather special, which I always love to see (being sick to death of incompetent policemen in the books I read). Lady Emily Hardcastle's background is very mysterious indeed, and I hope it takes several books to have all the details teased out for us to see. However, it is the relationship between Lady Emily and Florence that is the pièce de résistance of A Quiet Life in the Country. Their dialogue is so full of mutual admiration, wit, and humor that it is, quite simply, a delight to read. As Sunderland witnesses one such conversation, he asks, "Are you two a music hall act?" and you have to admit that he has a point. (If they were a music hall act, I'd pay to see them.) If you're in the mood for something that's light and fun, something that teases your brain, takes you to the English countryside of a century ago, and makes you laugh, have I got a recommendation for you: T.E. Kinsey's A Quiet Life in the Country. I'm on to the second book!

are looking to settle in to the nice, quiet
Format: Paperback
Welcome to Littleton Cotterell,a small village in Glouchestershire. The year is 1908, and Lady Emily Hardcastle and her intrepid maid, Florence Armstrong, are looking to settle in to the nice, quiet, retired life after several years spent adventuring around the world. Naturally, such plans are always disrupted. In this case, the two women discover a dead body hanging from a tree while out on a morning walk. The death is meant to appear as a suicide, but certain inconsistencies seen to point more towards murder. With the local constabulary over their heads, Lady Hardcastle and Flo must draw on their previous experiences to solve the murder before anyone else gets hurt. The mystery goes off in fairly expected fashion, with the eccentric and kindly Lady Hardcastle relying on her witty and resourceful maid. There are suspicious characters and red herrings aplenty. And, naturally, the initial mystery gets wrapped up in several others in the course of the book. I will say this for A Quiet Life in the Country: it does not take itself too seriously. The usual tropes of the cozy mystery are addressed with a wink and a nudge (such as one character explaining to Lady Hardcastle that the tiny, 30 person village she just moved to is actually the murder capital of the country). I appreciate the effort made to acknowledge all the commonly used bits that go into a cozy murder mystery, and it certainly helped to dispel a feeling of deja vu. In all, if you’re looking for a nice, quick mystery with not one but two strong female leads, you could do far worse than to join Flo and Lady Hardcastle on their adventures. A free copy of this book was provided via Goodreads Givaways in exchange for an honest review. A Quiet Life in the Country is currently available for purchase (and, at the time of this writing, free via Kindle Unlimited).

Pay no attention to Amazon's forced "one word" reviews. Read this review instead!
Format: Kindle
When led to this page for my review I found a series of leading questions which I found quite offensive. Don't put words in my mouth Amazon. I'm quite capable of giving my own ideas and views! For instance instead of the above four one word clap trap, I give you my review: "Full of surprises" indeed! That being said, I absolutely adored "A Quiet Life In The Country". I take full advantage to read for free lots of book through Prime, but most of it is schlock. This is the gold piece found buried deep, and worth the search. It's fun and frothy reading at the level of P. G. Wodehouse and Georgette Heyer. I echo a hearty Amen! to those who found Flo and Lady Hardcastle the most diverting sleuthing duo to come along in ages. I want much much more! Well researched too, as I learned who in the upper crust sails (as in Ladyship) and an assortment of early 20th century sports figures like W. G. Grace and Jack Hobbs, and after googling pictures of same, got quite a giggle out of Grace being portrayed as Oscar Wilde. This is actually my second read of this series, and it is even better than I remembered. In the second one you get even more behind the scenes with Lady H and Flo and it is a wild ride. These are first class offerings and I'm actually buying them all and can't wait until the newest comes out next June (2017)!

Well written. Funny...out loud gafawing funny. Fun. Well crafted plot. Wonderful characters.
Format: Kindle
What a lovely surprise! A well written, well plotted. Funny. Fun. Mystery with two fresh and fine friends...Lady Hardcastle and Flo Armstrong , her erstwhile Lady's maid, Servant, Strong Right Hand Woman and friend...and...Inspector Sunderland, who finds the two so innovative and essential to the investigation of Two Murders and Some serious thefts that he is determined, and says so, that whenever they can he desires them to assist in future! I so enjoyed this first book in the series I invested in the next four...so far!...in the series. What fun...the women and now the Detective Inspector, as well, have such comical and engaging exchanges one finds herself (me) laughing so heartily she needs to pause and wipe her eyes repeatedly as she reads the story! Would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good, well plotted mystery and a giddy, heartfelt laugh...well, series of laughs, at the same time. Dialogue is often funny...though murder and mayhem are not!...and this is a careful blend of both....just sayin'. What a wonderful edition to a huge genre of cozy and some not so cozy mystery books. I recommend this series.

a quiet life???
This is a short story collection like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie have for Holmes and Poirot/Marple. The characters remind me of the Phryne Fisher books. There are four stories in Book 1 A Quiet Life in the Country Lady Emily Hartcastle and her maid Miss Florence Armstrong are enjoying some time in the country in the small town of Littleton Cotterell when they come across a dead body. They find out that it is Frank Pickering, a local man and it is thought that he committed suicide. But investigating, it seems that he has been murdered. Who did it and why? The Circus comes to town Lady Hartcastle meets an old friend George who is the manager who for a circus that has come to town. The next day, the juggler Hubert 'Huey' Parving is found dead mawled in a cage and then others began to die. Who is behind this? The Case of the Missing Case Lady Hartcastle and Flo go to the engagement party of young Clarissa Farley-Strouds. The next day, Nelson Holloway, the trumpet player with that night's entertainment - Roland Richman's Ragtime Revue. Who killed him? As they investigate, the clues lead them to possible cursed stolen jewel. The Half-Death of Gunther Ehrlichmann Florence recounts her life before and after meeting Lady and Lord Hartcastle as she and Lady Hartcastle along with Lady Hartcastle's brother hunt down a killer. Each story is tied into the other, but exciting! Must read!
