No more bulky magazines catching on straps or getting hung up when taking off/out of your backpack. Better ergonomics around the action area of the chassis for carrying.
Disclaimers: Will only work with XLR Chassis models - ATOM, Element 3.0, and 4.0 chassis models. Will NOT work with Envy or any older XLR chassis models, including Gen 1 & 2 Elements. Unfortunately will NOT work with Tikka Actions or rifles chambered in 22-250.
PRODUCT DETAILS
Detatchable Box Magazine (DBM) systems have positive and negative traits about them. For hunting some of the negatives have always been the bulkyness and weight the magazine adds to the hunting rifle. XLR chasiss systems has the DBM system machined into the chassis preventing the additional weight of the bottom metal itself, but rifle hunters still had to get by with traditional AICS magazines like the Accurate brand magazines XLR carries.
That is until 2023 when XLR worked with Hawkins Precision on producing a lightweight short action AICS magazine that is compatible with with the Element 4.0 and ATOM chassis systems. The first short action AICS magazine designed for hunters seeking the ultimate lightweight and sleek modern hunting rifle. These magazines are currently only offered for short action systems offered in two variants. Standard and Magnum taking care of popular calibers like 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Winchester, 6.5 PRC, 7 SAUM, 300 WSM and many others.
AICS MAGAZINE COMPATIBILITY
The Hawkins Hunter Magazine is proprietary to their bottom metal. Where these Chassis Hunter magazines are designed specifically to work with specific XLR Chassis models and a few MPA chassis systems like the Ultra-Lite Chassis and rifle systems. These will NOT work other chassis systems or stocks that standard AICS or M5 DBM bottom metal.
