Design and Wear:

Larimar Ocean Calm Pendant is a small sterling silver talisman shaped around tranquility, clarity, and soft sea-blue light. The oval Larimar cabochon carries gentle aqua tones and cloud-like marbling, giving the piece a calm oceanic feeling.

The oxidized silver frame adds contrast and depth around the pale blue stone, while the hammered texture brings an earthy handmade surface to the setting. The open-back claw construction keeps the Larimar visible and lets the stone remain the centre of the design.

At approximately 2.3 cm including bail, this pendant is lightweight, easy to wear daily, and beautiful layered with other natural gemstone pieces. It can be worn as a Throat Chakra necklace, Larimar talisman, Pisces gift, Leo gift, ocean calm pendant, emotional clarity charm, or meaningful piece for someone drawn to soft blue stones and handmade oxidized silver.

Stone Insights:

AAA Grade Larimar Oval Cabochon:

Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite, loved for its soft ocean tones, cloud-like patterning, and gentle mineral presence. Its colour can range from pale aqua to deeper Caribbean blue, often carrying natural white marbling that resembles water, sky, and sea foam.

Spiritually, Larimar is connected with tranquility, emotional release, clear communication, feminine energy, and peaceful self-expression. It resonates strongly with the Throat Chakra, supporting honest speech, calm communication, and the release of fear or emotional tension. Its zodiac associations include Pisces and Leo, giving the pendant a balance of sensitivity, confidence, and gentle inner strength.

Combined Energy:

This pendant carries the focused energy of Larimar and oxidized silver. Larimar brings calm, clarity, and oceanic softness, while the darkened silver claw frame adds grounding, contrast, and handmade strength. The result is a compact talisman for peaceful expression, emotional steadiness, and quiet everyday beauty.

Origin and Authenticity:

Hand selected for colour, clarity, marbling, and visual presence. Made with certified 925 sterling silver. Stone is natural and untreated unless otherwise noted. Natural gemstones may show small variations, inclusions, surface details, or colour shifts that make each pendant unique.

Sizing and Fit Notes:

Pendant measures approximately 2.3 cm including bail. Lightweight and versatile, suitable for daily wear or layering. Comes with an adjustable woven cotton necklace and can also be paired with a fine silver chain, snake chain, leather cord, or custom necklace option depending on the desired look.

Care and Maintenance:

Sterling silver naturally develops patina over time when exposed to air, moisture, and skin oils. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wear. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in an airtight pouch or jewelry box. Avoid perfume, chlorine, household cleaners, swimming, bathing, and intense physical activity while wearing the piece.

Larimar is softer than many gemstones and should be protected from hard knocks, rough storage, ultrasonic cleaners, chemical dips, prolonged moisture, strong heat, direct sunlight for long periods, and abrasive polishing compounds. For oxidized finishes, avoid polishing darker textured areas if you want to preserve the aged look.

Packaging and Gifting:

Gift-ready packaging is included. Each order is packed securely with care. A small gift and discount code may be included with your order.

Ancient Greece: the progenitor for modern day civilization
Format: Kindle
This enthralling text explores Ancient Greece from its Bronze age origins to its capitulation under the Roman Empire. Furthermore, it emphasizes the long-reaching impact this heterogeneous collection of city-states had on political, scientific, mathematical, philosophical, architectural, and military development. All of this was accomplished in spite of constantly shifting intra-regional conflict between Athens, Thrace and Sparta. Outside enemies like the Persian empire only complicated relations further. This sibling rivalry-of-sorts evolved when Alexander the Great's Macedonian empire conquered the Greek world and supplanted itself in the greco-persian conflict. While Macedonia's did embroil the internecine conflicts in the area they hellenized the regions they conquered, including: Persia,Egypt, and parts of India. However, when Alexander the Great died it left a power vacuum exploited by his men, the Romans, and the Ancient Greeks. This ultimately resulted in the Roman Empire. Ancient Greece set the stage for roman empire and while they were an autonomous union of city-states for much of their existence two things united them: their language and religion. These two cultural touchstones united these city-states as brothers, albeit with a love-hate relationship at times. This text explores the archaic, classic, and hellenic periods of Greek history in a fascinating and concise manner. It is a must-read.

Enlightening
Format: Paperback
I discovered a number of interesting things reading this book. I learned for example, that Sparta was indeed a warrior city, with men training to be soldiers from an early age and living in barracks, even when they were married. This and the death rate from fighting led to a low birth rate and their eventual demise. I also discovered that athletes in the original Olympics did indeed compete naked and that making a false start to a race was not a good idea, as people who did that were executed! I also learned that there were Greeks who believed the Earth was round and that it circled the sun, hundreds of years before Copernicus. I also discovered that the various Greek factions, (e.g. Athens, Sparta, Macedonia etc.) seemed to be constantly fighting one another). I knew that Alexander the Great built a massive empire but did not realize the extent of that empire until I read this tome. I also discovered that Aristotle was a student of Plato, who in turn was a student of Socrates Overall, it was a very enlightening read where I gathered all sorts of interesting facts
