Rebutia heliosa is a small, clustering cactus native to the high-altitude regions of Bolivia and Argentina. It is prized for its compact, globular shape and dense covering of golden-yellow spines that give it a soft, fuzzy appearance. This charming cactus forms tight clusters of small, round stems that rarely exceed 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.
In spring and summer, Rebutia heliosa produces vibrant orange to red funnel-shaped flowers that emerge from the base of the plant, providing a striking contrast to its spiny body. Its slow growth and manageable size make it an ideal choice for windowsills, rock gardens, or succulent collections.
Care Requirements:
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to partial sun. Avoid intense midday sun which may scorch the plant.
- Water: Water moderately during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.
- Soil: Well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix is essential.
- Temperature: Prefers cooler temperatures, ideally between 50–75°F (10–24°C). Protect from frost.
- Growth Habit: Clumping, small, and slow-growing.

We ship year-round every Monday to locations throughout the United States, except Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not offer international shipping.
