When 6 String Drag first appeared on the scene in 1993, the Americana scene was still in it's infancy. As one of the earliest alt-country bands of the era-a point in time at which Uncle Tupelo was winding down, Whiskeytown hadn't yet formed, and scene bible No Depression was still a couple of years away from launching-the quartet, headed up by guitarist/vocalist Roby and bassist Rob Keller, played a major role in eventually making the term "Americana" part of the musical lexicon. Now, with the impending arrival of a new album titled Top of the World, 6 String Drag broadens it's collective purview, incorporating classic British Invasion pop, tough-as-nails '70s rock and punk, and more. The album, due out TKTK, will be available on digital, CD and vinyl. Top of the World contains 11 gems that are both unique in their own right and uniquely 6 String Drag, from pumping opener "Never Turn My Back on You Again" and the pub-rocking, rebels-kinda-with-a-cause "Small Town Punks." "I think some of the songs lean towards influences of certain artists, but not as an overall approach to a whole album. We have always listened to classic bands like the Kinks, Stones, Beatles, Them and Van Morrison, The Band, etc. And there's the whole punk rock and '70s rock thing that always comes into play. The whole band had actually been getting into Rockpile and Thin Lizzy when we were in the process of making the record, so that probably seeped in on this record a little."1. Seems durable - but the scent is not the best

I don't know if I'd call the scent of this "bacon," more like rubber with a hint of bacon. It's very strong. I gave my dog one of the balls & put one in a cabinet where I keep his treats & a few other unrelated odds & ends. I now hold my breath when I open that cabinet b/c good lord, the smell. I'm tempted to just give that one to the dog too, just because it'll air out eventually & then everything else in that cabinet won't smell bad.
My dog feels so-so about it. He'll briefly chase after it & chew on it, but loses interest in it pretty fast. My rather hyperactive cat also plays with it from time to time, as he seems to have more interest in most dog toys than the dog these days, so there's that. (Then again, he thinks a wide variety of random items around the house are loads of fun to toss about, so it's possible his opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt. Between the brief periods of one of these balls being chewed on & clawed at, it's stayed completely intact. I think if you have a dog who simply likes to play fetch or chew on rubber balls in general, this one would stand up to the task. But if you're expecting it to be greeted with the enthusiasm as a bacon grease covered ball might be - I'd adjust your expectations.

My dogs favorite toy so far in two years

I use this with my medium sized dog. These are large for him but that's what I want so I don't ever have to think about them being too small or a swallow hazard. He has been through A LOT OF TOYS in the last couple years, but nothing, NOTHING has he loved as much as these.
His favorite used to be squeaker balls. Then his favorite was crackle balls. But he will gladly ignore both for this one. I don't know if it's the bacon flavor or what, but he go nuts for it.

Bacon? IDK but good stuff either way

What is there to say? they're giant 4" rubber balls from the Chew King brand which is very durable brand. The best part is they don't roll under couches, side boards, etc cause they're just big enough.

Tough Dog Balls. Bright Orange/holes for treats

I used to buy Starmark. But their balls got smaller and tore more easily. The color was green. I couldn’t find it when it was dropped in the grass!! Soooooo, I took a chance on this cuz it had holes in it and was bright orange. It is not scented at all or its bacon scent faded. The ball is for strong chewers. I’m a petsitter and I needed tough balls for my clients dog. Shipped quickly. Good price. Exactly as described
