Starbucked will be the first book to explore the incredible rise of the Starbucks Corporation and the caffeine-crazy culture that fueled its success. Part Fast Food Nation, part Bobos in Paradise, Starbucked combines investigative heft with witty cultural observation in telling the story of how the coffeehouse movement changed our everyday lives, from our evolving neighborhoods and workplaces to the ways we shop, socialize, and self-medicate. In Starbucked, Taylor Clark provides an objective, meticulously reported look at the volatile issues like gentrification and fair trade that distress activists and coffee zealots alike. Through a cast of characters that includes coffee-wild hippies, business sharks, slackers, Hollywood trendsetters and more, Starbucked explores how America transformed into a nation of coffee gourmets in only a few years, how Starbucks manipulates psyches and social habits to snare loyal customers, and why many of the things we think we know about the coffee commodity chain are false.Binding Type: Paperback

Grad School Purchase
Format: Hardcover
Got here so quickly! I had no problems whatsoever with the book, the book cover was just a little wrinkled, but I'm sure that's just from traveling. The book on the inside, the pages are clean and crisp. I will happily recommend them to other buyers! Thank you!!

Format: Hardcover
The information in this book changed my opinion of career counseling as a foundation for mental health counseling from a holistic approach. Assessments in this book and the accompanying Using Assessment Results for Career Development book are invaluable together.

I love the aspects of career counseling. But this book makes the theories hard to understand.

High energy mindset book, but very repetitive
Format: Hardcover
The 10X Rule is a very high energy, motivational book focused on taking massive action and setting goals much higher than what most people think is realistic.
The strongest part is the mindset shift. It constantly pushes the idea that success requires way more effort, persistence, and volume than people typically expect. If you are looking for motivation to work harder and avoid playing it safe, the message definitely hits.
It also does a good job challenging excuses and comfort zones. The tone is very direct and intense, which can be useful if you respond well to that style of motivation.
However, the book is very repetitive. The same core idea of “10X effort” is repeated throughout almost every section in slightly different ways, which can make it feel stretched out.
It is more motivational than practical, so if you are looking for step-by-step systems or structured strategies, this may not be what you are expecting.
Overall, it’s a strong mindset book if you want intensity and motivation, but less useful if you are looking for detailed execution plans.
