I have always been attracted to cyclists and investigate both biking for pleasure and competition through my art. Over time, with more of a focus on competition, it became clear to me that sports and arts are so closely intertwined. There is no significance in your background, race, nationality, or even language, art and sports are the most universal forms of communication available to us. Through sports and art, we can express ourselves physically, intellectually, and of course emotionally. When painting these men in a cycling competition, I see them as one, expressing themselves and connecting with an international audience through their art of the sport.
