Cherries are a beloved fruit known for their sweet and tart flavors, making them a popular addition to gardens and orchards. Among the many cherry varieties available, the Lapins Cherry Tree stands out as an excellent choice for both amateur and experienced fruit growers.

Overview of the Lapins Cherry Tree

The Lapins Cherry Tree is a member of the Prunus genus, known for producing high-quality cherries. This particular cultivar is prized for its sweet, dark red cherries that are perfect for eating fresh, baking, or preserving into jams and jellies. Here are some key features of the Lapins Cherry Tree:

  • Semi-Dwarf Growth Habit: The semi-dwarf nature of this tree makes it an ideal choice for small to medium-sized gardens or orchards. It typically reaches a manageable height of 12 to 15 feet, allowing for easier maintenance and harvesting.

  • Self-Pollinating: One of the significant advantages of the Lapins Cherry Tree is its self-pollinating nature. While many cherry varieties require cross-pollination with another cherry tree, Lapins can produce fruit on its own, making it a suitable choice for growers with limited space.

  • Fruit Characteristics: The Lapins Cherry Tree produces large, heart-shaped cherries that have a deep red to almost black color when fully ripe. These cherries are known for their exceptional sweetness and rich flavor, making them a favorite among cherry enthusiasts.

  • Fruit Production: Under optimal growing conditions, a mature Lapins Cherry Tree can yield an abundant harvest of cherries. The fruit typically ripens in mid to late summer, providing a bountiful supply for fresh consumption and preservation.

  • Hardiness Zones: Lapins Cherry Trees are well-suited for growing in USDA hardiness zones 5 to 8. They can withstand a range of climates but thrive in areas with cold winters and moderate summers.

Caring for Your Lapins Cherry Tree

To ensure your Lapins Cherry Tree thrives and produces an excellent harvest, proper care and maintenance are essential. Here are some key tips for caring for your semi-dwarf cherry tree:

  • Planting Location: Choose a sunny spot in your garden or orchard that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Well-drained soil is crucial to prevent root rot and other diseases.

  • Pruning: Pruning is essential to maintain the shape of your Lapins Cherry Tree and encourage fruit production. Prune during the dormant season to remove dead or diseased branches, and thin out excess growth to improve air circulation.

  • Watering: Cherry trees require consistent moisture, especially during the growing season and fruit development. Provide regular watering to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

  • Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer in the early spring to provide essential nutrients for healthy growth and fruit development. Follow recommended guidelines based on your soil's nutrient needs.

  • Pest and Disease Control: Keep an eye out for common cherry tree pests and diseases, such as aphids, cherry fruit flies, and brown rot. Implement preventive measures and address issues promptly to protect your tree and fruit.

  • Harvesting Cherries: Wait until the cherries are fully ripe before harvesting. They should be plump, firm, and have a deep, dark color. Gently pick the cherries to avoid damaging the fruit or tree branches.

Pollination and Fruit Production

The Lapins cherry tree is a self-pollinating variety, meaning it can produce fruit without needing other cherry trees for cross-pollination, making it a great choice for home growers with limited space. This self-pollinating nature also allows the tree to set fruit reliably, producing dark red cherries with exceptional sweetness, perfect for fresh eating. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Lapins cherries are less prone to fruit cracking and offer excellent fruit production, even in colder climates like British Columbia, while adding ornamental value to the garden. For optimal results, prune during the dormant season and avoid fertilizing in early spring to ensure strong, healthy growth and a great shape for the tree.

Harvesting Lapins Cherries

Harvesting Lapins cherries is a rewarding process that typically occurs in late June to mid-summer, depending on your region's climate. As a self-pollinating variety, the Lapins cherry tree can produce fruit without the need for other cherry trees, making it an ideal choice for home growers with limited space. To ensure you harvest the delicious fruit at its peak, wait until the cherries are fully ripe—plump, firm, and dark red in color—before gently picking them. Be sure to prune the tree during the dormant season to maintain great shape and air circulation, which helps prevent common issues like bacterial blight and fruit cracking. Lapins sweet cherries are perfect for fresh eating, and with the right care, your tree will continue to thrive and yield an abundance of sweet fruit season after season.

How to Incorporate a Lapins Cherry Tree into Your Garden

Incorporating a Lapins cherry tree into your garden can be a rewarding way to enjoy delicious fruit with minimal care. This self-pollinating tree is perfect for small gardens, thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, and producing dark red cherries with a sweet cherry flavor. The Lapins cherry tree offers ornamental value with its spring blossoms and fruit production in mid-summer, providing an abundant harvest of sweet fruit for fresh eating or preservation. With its good resistance to fruit cracking and bacterial canker, it's an excellent choice for home growers in colder climates, like British Columbia, where it can withstand colder temperatures and continue to thrive with proper care, including pruning in the dormant season and planting near other cherry trees for best fruit set.

The Lapins Cherry Tree is a versatile and rewarding addition to any garden or orchard. Its self-pollinating nature, delicious sweet cherries, and semi-dwarf growth habit make it an excellent choice for home growers. With proper care and attention, you can enjoy a bountiful harvest of delectable Lapins cherries from your own tree for years to come.

Excellent Budget Gaming Monitor

I’m very impressed with this monitor for the price. The 200Hz refresh rate makes gameplay feel incredibly smooth, especially in fast-paced games. The picture quality is sharp, colors look good, and the screen size is perfect for both gaming and everyday use.

Better off saving your money for a quality brand like Acer or Samsung
Size: 24"/FHD/240Hz
If you were looking for a decent gaming monitor with a good refresh rate, you better keep looking. Honestly, I wanted to really like this thing. For $120, it ticked off a lot of great features for me: at least 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p quality, and some nifty reticule marks for FPS gamers like myself. And for a year I had no problems with it until a few days ago. The ability to control input's, power, and toggle the reticule features all lie on one singular button behind the monitor. Here lie's the issue; if that power button starts messing up, there is no way to control or turn on/off the monitor. This is exactly what happened on my unit; the power button/control went out and the monitor was basically useless. I contacted Koorui support via email, and all I got was a vague "Did you confirm the button is really broken" response. Replied back that I did, and the manufacturer has ghosted me. Basically, I HIGHLY advise you just save up a few $80 or $100 dollars and get a decent entry level gaming monitor. By going cheap with this one, you will just end up probably wearing out the power/control button and be left with an expensive paperweight. If you are DIY repair savvy, I am sure that replacing the power/control button probably is not that big of a deal. In which case, go right ahead as it is a decent monitor for the price. But with that said, having this thing break leaves you with basically no options to get it fixed and good luck trying to get a hold of Koorui for support. Sadly, this is a growing trend on buying electronic's here on amazon from smaller brand sellers. *Update* So as of writing this review, I got Koorui to reach out to me. They would agree to replace the monitor for free, but I would have to front the shipping costs. They have their operations out in California, so if you live on the east coast then expect to pay around $40-50 for shipping for the monitor all the way out there (nearly half the monitor's value). I told Koorui that this just did not make any financial sense and they offered to refund me 50% of the monitor's value. However, they have yet to specify how they will send the refund, so I am unsure of whether I will see my partial refund when this is all said and done. So know that if you do proceed to get this monitor and need to return it past the 30 day return window covered by Amazon. TLDR: just save up an extra $50-100 for a big brand gaming monitor and save yourself the headache of dealing with all of this.

Changed my work at home experience. I feel fully enveloped in the work. I don't use it for gaming so can't comment on that. But for laptop heavy work days, this is a great experience.

Simple and not Drama claim process.
’ve had Asurion coverage for a couple of years and never needed to use it until recently, when my pool salt cell (less than two years old) stopped working. I had purchased it with an Asurion protection plan, so I contacted them to start a claim. The process was simple and straightforward to follow. In the end, they honored the plan and covered the cost of my salt cell based on the value when I originally bought it. They issued me a gift card that I could use on Amazon for that amount. While prices have gone up and a new cell now costs about $200 more, it was still definitely worth having the coverage. Overall, I’m satisfied with how the claim was handled.
