De Barbaresco 2017 van Angelo Gaja is een expressieve en elegante wijn, afkomstig van zorgvuldig geselecteerde wijngaarden rond het dorp Barbaresco. De 2017 vintage, gekenmerkt door een warm groeiseizoen, heeft geleid tot een wijn met diepte, structuur en een indrukwekkend rijpingspotentieel.
Proefnotities
Diep robijnrood met granaatreflecties. In de neus aroma's van rozenblaadjes, wilde bessen, kamfer en onderhout. In de mond krachtig en gestructureerd met tonen van Marasca-kers, bloedsinaasappel en steranijs, omlijst door fijne, gespannen tannines.
Foodpairing
Uitstekend bij gerechten zoals ossobuco, risotto met paddenstoelen of truffel, wildgerechten en gerijpte harde kazen zoals Parmigiano Reggiano.

Vinificatie & Rijping
De druiven worden met de hand geoogst en ondergaan fermentatie in roestvrijstalen tanks bij gecontroleerde temperaturen. Na de malolactische gisting rijpt de wijn 12 maanden in barriques, gevolgd door 12 maanden in grote eikenhouten vaten.
