Bloeitijd halfstam Weigela florida 'Wings of Fire'

De Weigela struik op stam is vooral populair om zijn buitengewoon opvallende blad. In het voorjaar kleuren de bladeren groen en al snel verkleuren ze al wat naar een bronzen tint. In de zomer kleuren ze lichtrood met in de herfst spectaculaire vlammend rode tinten. In mei/juni verschijnen er kleine roze klokvormige bloemetjes die zelfs in september nog een tweede korte najaarsbloei geven. De struik is niet wintergroen maar wel goed winterhard.

Aanplanten en standplaats

Weigelia - Weigela florida 'Wings of Fire' staat graag in de zon of halfschaduw. De grond mag het liefst koel en goed doorlaatbaar zijn (vooral in de herfst en winter niet te nat). De Weigela struik wordt ongeveer 150 cm groot en evenzo breed. Na de bloei kunnen de uitgebloeide takken met tweederde worden ingekort.
