DC47-00016A Thermal Fuse & DC32-00007A Thermistor Dryer Sensor Kit
Key Features
- Precision Thermal Monitoring: The DC32-00007A thermistor is an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor that communicates real-time temperature data to the control board, ensuring consistent heat levels and preventing fabric damage.
- High-Limit Safety Cut-Off: The DC47-00016A thermal fuse acts as a critical safety barrier, immediately cutting power to the heating element if temperatures exceed safe operating limits to prevent dryer fires.
- Rapid Response Engineering: Both sensors are designed with low-latency thermal conductivity, allowing the dryer to react instantly to temperature spikes caused by restricted airflow or lint buildup.
- Moisture-Resistant Housing: Encased in high-grade, heat-stabilized polymers and corrosion-resistant metals, these components are built to survive the high-humidity, high-vibration environment of a dryer drum housing.
- Exact Electrical Calibration: Engineered to match original factory resistance (Ohms) specifications, ensuring the control board receives accurate signals for error-free cycle timing and energy-efficient drying.

Compatibility & Fitment
This sensor kit is the primary electronic temperature control set for modern Samsung and Kenmore-branded dryers. Key compatible series include:
- Samsung DV Series: Fits hundreds of models including DV45H7000EW, DV48H7400EW, DV42H5000EW, DV210AEW, DV4006110, and DV50F9A8EVP.
- Samsung DVE/DVG Series: Compatible with both Electric (DVE) and Gas (DVG) versions of the 400, 450, 480, and 500 series.
- Kenmore (402 Series): Fits many 402-prefix models produced by Samsung for Sears (e.g., 402.89032010, 402.99032011).
- Note: These parts are typically located on the Blower Housing or the Heater Duct. Verify your model number to ensure your unit uses the "blue-tipped" thermistor style.
When to Replace
- No Heat at All: The dryer runs and the drum turns, but the air remains cold. This often happens because the DC47-00016A thermal fuse has blown to protect the unit from an overheat condition.
- "tS", "tE", or "HE" Error Codes: Samsung dryers will display these error codes on the console when the control board detects an open circuit or incorrect resistance from the thermistor.
- Long Drying Times: If the thermistor is out of calibration, it may signal the heater to turn off too early, leaving clothes damp even after a full cycle.
- Dryer Shuts Off Mid-Cycle: The unit stops unexpectedly a few minutes into the cycle as the sensors detect a rapid, unsafe rise in temperature.
- Overheating: If the thermistor fails in a "closed" state, the heater may stay on too long, making the top of the dryer cabinet hot to the touch.
Installation Tips
- Safety First: You MUST unplug the dryer. This repair requires accessing the internal blower and heater assemblies, which are connected to high-voltage circuits.
- Access the Sensors: Most technicians access these parts by removing the lower front kickplate or the entire front panel and drum. The thermistor and fuse are usually mounted side-by-side on the blower housing.
- The "Ohm" Check: Before installing, you can test the new DC32-00007A thermistor with a multimeter. At room temperature (77°F), it should read approximately 10,000 Ohms (10kΩ).
- Check Airflow First: If your thermal fuse has blown, it is almost always caused by a clogged dryer vent. Before running the dryer with new parts, clean your exhaust duct to the outside to prevent the new fuse from blowing immediately.
- One Screw Mounting: These parts are usually held in by a single 1/4-inch hex head screw. Be careful not to over-tighten, as the plastic blower housing can strip easily.
